Re: Farming Simulator Feature Suggestions
I'd like to be able to buy second hand machinery, with a lower purchase price but higher maintenance costs, or introduce breakdowns, even in a simple form like a message telling you the machine is broken, it will cost £x and be out of action for X hours, with options to fix, sell or do nothing. Then...

They can still be sued for it being ran on pc if the right person wants to. So I see no difference. And I know that Microsoft has complete control over all of their products. Ok, I'll bite. You're saying that the makers of an operating system can be held responsible for what it's customers download...

Re: Placeable decorations (trees) to expensive !?
I believe the price was raised in 17 to balance the game. In fs15 you could place trees near a sawmill, cut them down and sell them immediately for much more than the cost of the trees. Giants lowered the selling price for lumber, and increased the cost of placeable trees to get rid of the exploit. ...

Are there any errors in the log? You can always press alt+F4 to close the game if needs be.

I've got 8 or 9 tractors, 2 combines and a sprayer, and own every field.
On console I doubt it's worth having so much machinery, as you can only run so many workers at a time.

Re: Re:FS19 poll
I'll be waiting until the bugs reach acceptable levels, and a stable version of courseplay is released, by which time I expect there'll be a decent amount of mods about.
Also seasons will need to have been converted, or added to the base game, or it would seem like a step back!

Re: Judder when driving
Whilst being a very good map, Chellington did seem a bit under optimised in fs17. The only way I found to combat it was to lower my graphics settings.
I'm sure there's more you could do by fiddling with the map in GE, but it's not something that I've ever got into.

Re: Gearbox Mod Usage Advice
On the older mechanical pto switches I agree. However, the newer computerized (mostly what we have in the base game) prefer you are already at the proper rpm and it engages the pto without undue stress. Our maxxum mx100 was the first one on our farm to have this and it took me some time to get used...

Re: Gearbox Mod Usage Advice
Also you would engage the PTO with the engine at idle, then increase the revs. Engaging the PTO with the engine revving would put undue strain on the drivetrain, and snap shearbolts or wear out clutches.

It's in the same area as the vehicle shop, in the south-west corner of the area north of field 24.

I think what you're looking for is the multi terrain angle feature included in many mod maps, it's usually mentioned in the description.
Most of the high quality maps released this year have this feature. I can recommend Oakfield, The West Coast, or Valley View which all make good use of this feature.

Re: Gearbox Mod Usage Advice
That would depend on the type of work, and how much power it requires. Tractors generally have a PTO gearbox with several speeds, which can include 540, 540 eco, 750 (essentialy the same as 540 eco), 1000 and 1000 eco. The eco versions are geared higher, to give the right PTO speed at lower engine s...

Sticking with barley as an example, if the soil temps reach 5°C by the morning of early summer, the plants will germinate and grow. If it's early summer and still <5°, they will fail. That's my experience anyway, and ISTR having this conversation with a member of Realismus way back in the first seas...

Re: can't sell silage help.
You have to leave them for a third of a season to ferment into silage. Until then they are just grass, which has a sell price of 0 with seasons.
You can use the Wopstr tool on a bale to see how long you have to wait, it's in the misc category IIRC.

Re: Seasons Mod Thread #2
What the manual doesn't make clear is that if the temperature doesn't get high enough for germination by the end of the planting window, the crop fails and goes straight to the harvested state, as you've experienced.
