Re: Giants going the Arcade way?

Although the physics in FS22 are far, far better than they were in FS17 I do miss the MR (more realistic) mod FS17 had. It really felt like everything had real weight to it. Tractors and combines felt incredibly ponderously heavy. The physics in FS22 are still too arcade like for my liking. Everythi...

Re: Giants going the Arcade way?

FS19 was a huge step sideways for the franchise. FS22 did a relatively decent job of correcting some of the problems and putting things back on track but I've always got the impression it was too little too late. So many people from the community (particularly the good map makers from FS15 and 17) h...

Re: Move on from 22 or keep Farming

You might find this link interesting re Giants and British maps https://www.theguardian.com/games/2018/jul/24/meet-the-real-life-farmers-who-play-farming-simulator Yeah I remember seeing that article at the time. I do wonder if FS as franchise peaked with FS17. I know the game has increased in sale...

I think I remember a suggestion that "Chellington 17" was a conversion by OxygenDavid "encouraged" by GIANTS, I could be remembering wrong.
Yeah I remember reading that somewhere. If I remember rightly I think it was the first mod map we got on console.

Re: Move on from 22 or keep Farming

I could be wrong on this one but I don't think Giants have ever done a UK style map in any of their games. Does anyone get really excited about Giants base game maps though? I didn't buy FS22 until OxygenDavid released his Calmsden Farm map. I don't see the point in playing FS unless its on a reali...

Re: Move on from 22 or keep Farming

I played FS17 to death but pretty much lost interest with FS19. I've kind of got back into it with FS22, but FS22 feels like what FS19 should have been. FS17 had so many amazing maps it was difficult to know where to begin. We were spoilt for choice, on PC anyway. The huge problem FS22 has is it jus...

Re: Next Farming Simulator Wishlist

Putting aside dynamic terrain my number wishlist item is decent dynamic weather and lighting. The sim desperately needs far more variety to the weather and lighting conditions that are all linked to the seasons. There are far lesser games out there that have far better looking sky boxes than FS. I d...

Re: Next Farming Simulator Wishlist

Now imagine if they need to remember every single indent or protrusion in a dynamic terrain map. Thats why my guess is it'll be quite a subtle effect. We're not talking Mudrunner levels of dynamic terrain but it'll be enough to make ploughing look far more realistic. Maybe their current engine isn'...

Re: Next Farming Simulator Wishlist

I have read that you would like the terrain to be dynamic, that when it rains the tractors get stuck, etc, etc. Well, that in farming simulator will never be, simply if they do that mods are finished, you do not know how difficult it would be to make a mod to work properly with a dynamic terrain, K...

Re: MAPS I miss the most in FS22

Giants definitely have put too much emphasis on giving the player the ability to edit maps. A bit of customisation is fine but they should empower and encourage the really good map makers out there to make great maps on PC and then have them available for console. A really good farm sim map shouldn'...

Re: MAPS I miss the most in FS22

I've played a handful of base game and modded maps in FS22 that seem good to me but without more experience I can't know what's missing. Everything is subjective of course so this is only my opinion. Personally I think maps need to look and feel like real living places. There needs to be great atte...

Re: MAPS I miss the most in FS22

Decent maps for FS22 are definitely its weak spot. OxygenDavid's are both fantastic and a nod to the past glories of FS17. BulletBill's Herefordshire map looks amazing if/when he ever releases it. I can totally see why those guys want to draw a line over their past maps and not update them for FS22....

Re: Next Farming Simulator Wishlist

Have there been any rumours circulating about FS-25? I've been out of the loop for a little while but got back into playing FS-22 again recently. I presume we'll hear something about it in late spring next year. Proper dynamic weather and atmospheric effects is my number one wish list item. Followed...

Re: So many maps no need FS 24 :)

If Giants stick to the current cycle we'll definitely see FS-25 released next October. Visually the game needs being brought up to date. FS22 isn't awful looking but its very inconsistent. Its much better looking than FS19 but the lighting is still way too harsh and the weather effects are still nex...

Re: So can we expect more of this in future?

re: "environment and econ" advancements in next versions, I've wondered now since FS13 why weather has not advanced. I used to play flight sim and thought maybe FS could integrate local weather like flight sim did but now I'm not sure I'd use geo loc weather due to the base game time peri...
