loss of sound

my game was working fine until i returned to my saved game.when i started the game up there was no sound i restarted but no joy took out mods 1 by 1 still no sound . i re-installed the game and have sound on the basic game but when i upgrade to the latest patch i lose sound again this is the ( Disc ) version of the game.
any ideas?????
