Shader 3.0 issue in Windows 8.1

Hi,

I reinstalled my desktop with windows 8.1 (x64). Then I reinstalled the Faring Simulator 2013. When I try to start it drop an error message: "Shader 3.0 is required". My graphich card support Shader 4.0 and I use the latest VGA driver. I install the latest directX driver as well (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... aspx?id=35) but nothing changed.

Please give me the solution for this as soon as possible because I feel your product does not support Windows 8.1. *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown* *thumbsdown*


Furthermore I wanted to buy the Faring Simulator 15 but till you won't solve this issue I won't do that.

Please tell us the PC-Data
or, when you have tried the FS13, the Log.txt from Game.

FS13 definitely works with Win 8.1. Also does FS15.
If FS ran before on that computer, you most likely installed a wrong GPU driver. Probably the one from Windows Update. That one maybe works fine for regular office, web browsing and multimedia stuff, but for 3D games, you should really get the latest GPU driver directly from the manufacturers homepage (Nvidia or AMD).

I have a Intel Q45 Graphic Card. In this card the Shader 4.0 is suppoerted.
I thought that the driver is not the best but unfortunately there is no windows 8.1 driver for it. Although I can download W7 driver that is not supported by Windows 8.1.

Is there any registry hacking?

Hi,

I solved the issue.
I downloaded and installed the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail ... ldID=18402
After that the issue has gone.

I guess this is your responsibility.

The Q45 is an old, very weak iGPU.
Just forget about FS15, because you won't be able to run it with that crappy iGPU.
