Adding a conditioning mower or tedder function

Post by mountainboomer »

I am trying to simulate the way we make hay in the western USA. Rarely to we use tedders. It is so dry it is simply not needed. I posted this question in General and received no replies.

I added the tedder function to the 30ft draper swather head but it did not output tedded hay. I guess I missed some other parts on the code where the grass is actually cut?

Using the Swather pack mod. This mod includes a 16ft mower with conditioning blades.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Do you want to explicitly postpone the transition to hay until swathing or is the grass so dry it would already be hay when you cut it down ? If it is hay right away, then it could make sense to work it out directly in the map.
In that case you may try to adapt the maps_fruitTypes.xml: change the fruitTypeConverter section of the mower to generate "DRYGRASS_WINDROW" instead of "GRASS_WINDROW".

Yes I essentially want the output of the mower to be hay. The conditioned mower does this. I will look at the conditioned mower to see what it does differently and your suggested map edit. Thanks!
