farming simulator 15

Post by Bor Sponge »

Ponsse, a loggers best friend...

hmmmmm a bit of a curve ball.

hopefully we'll see a bit more of what else there is on offer as release time nears us.

to be honest i didnt really know what to expect, so im not dissapointed or jumping for joy.

is logging really looked upon as mainstay part of agriculture? surely its more of a specialist contracting job, in my opinion and i just dont see logging and wheat harvest going hand in hand. i dunno, maybe im too british, harvest summer, cultivations/drilling autumn/winter, sugar beet autumn/winter, spring sugar beet and maise drilling so on and so forth.

but, its something different, something new (to most of us) and if done well could be interesting.

though the big question is will be the game play, physics and graphics be improved? by the sounds of it the majority want an improvement and if this happens then logging will welcomed with open arms by the harsh fs13 player and if not said player will cast it aside as logging simulator.

Yeah I'm not sure what to make of it either. Doesn't seem like logging has much to do with Farming but I'm not a farmer so what do I know. Personally I was hoping for things like more crops, more animals, new game mechanics (like being able to transport fermented silage, meat processing) etc. The washable vehicles is neat I suppose but not new, the modding community has been doing that for awhile. Interaction with the citizens and taking jobs sounds interesting but I hope it is better thought out than the silly missions that are in the current game. Just have to wait for more info.

I'm wondering if it will allow us to cut up *any* tree or if it's only a certain size/type or in a certain area. This would allow those of us who don't like a tree being in a specific location to chop it up for firewood.

I agree nickle, I'd of liked to of seen cotton and sunflowers given a huge push.
But I guess as so many maps have these other fruits plus the multi fruit mods it may of been left alone. Even still it would of earned more strips for doing so.
I'm sure in Scandinavia logging is a huge enterprise, as their terrain and climate surely isn't suited to producing cereals on the scale of Europe, USA and Aus. But I've never been there or know of their agricultural back ground.

But as I said the bigger picture is the development of the pyshics and game play if any.

new holland is the only thing they have shown, besides this tree cutter.

the trailer only came out today, how would we possibly know which other brands are in the future game?

I just checked on Giants web site and here is their "blurb"

Farming Simulator 15 invites you into the challenging world of farming life, including animal husbandry (cows, chicken and sheep), crops and sales. Manage and develop your farm with new infrastructure in two huge open worlds, including an all-new Nordic environment.

Manage the forest with a new activity: wood cutting! New big brands from the industry will also be available like New Holland, Ponsse and more! To keep your vehicles clean, use wash stations regularly.

Meet the inhabitants who will provide you with missions to complete, and prove that you are a farmer with multiple talents! Manage a farm with up to 10 friends online, or via a local network. You can also share mods, vehicles and equipment with players from all over the world, providing virtually unlimited content and countless hours of gameplay!

http://www.farming-simulator.com/news.php?lang=en

only when you pre-order do they tell you it WILL be released on October 30th.
OK so I said I wasn't going to buy it but my hand slipped. :blushnew:

Here is the only article I have been able to find on FS15 so far http://games.mxdwn.com/news/e3-2014-far ... -released/

Got a couple of pics of the E3 booth. I'm hoping we will get a gameplay trailer and a Steam preorder option before E3 is over :)

I've played several games over the years and October 30th is often used as a placeholder date for allowing pre-order. I'm not sure how Giants are for releasing products but I wouldn't be surprised if it's later than that.
For the logging, I like it, it's nice to have something that's a little different. Some farmers get involved with logging but admittedly it's only a very small percentage and I agree with others that it would be nice to have more animals and crops (the cotton was an excellent idea :) ).

I was certainly hopeful of learning a bit more than we did from the E3 teaser. Why do developers feel the need to "tease" us? :(

According to the German Amazon page they raised the minimum requirements a bit. http://www.amazon.de/Astragon-Landwirts ... B00KX5LWFO
