I have this game on Steam and my brother has it on the MAS. Can I downgrade my Steam version to version 2.0.1 so I can play with my brother (the MAS' latest version is 2.0.1).
P.S. This is my brother talking. He didn't want to make an account....
Can I install an older version of this to play with my brother?

I would try with what you got, and then tell us what your end result is. 
As long as you and your brother have the SAME UPDATE and different keys, and you are good to go
