Re: Renege on a contract for profit.

Just do that instead of the mission. Buy the land, harvest the crop, and sell the land. Make more money. Though you need more to start. This is probably considered another form of cheating though. A friend gave me this idea The main reason you take the mission (rather than just flipping the land fo...

Re: Renege on a contract for profit.

If you do the same for a crop Harvesting mission (cancel after harvesting some crop) you will be penalized for what is missing from the field. The way around that is simply to store the crop as you go, and buy the land before completing the mission. This cancels the contract without the associated p...

Re: Poplar and grass question

I've run through ~5 fields of poplar so far on Goldcrest #10 (next to the sawmill). The work is mostly in the planting. I opt to hire help for that task - when they complete, line them up for a second pass "between the rows". Be amazed how many wood chips come out of that tiny field. It ke...

Re: queston about weeder

To me...just turning off the plowing mechanic auto-gives you the additional 10% WITH your 90% fert step on 1 x ferts.. Maybe it does. They should probably explain the system better in the documentation and not say that cultivating is plowing as a game mechanic. Either way - to your original questio...

Re: Turning straw into chaff

What i'm saying is i don't think that this not working in FS17 is an oversight, it most likely was an oversight in FS15.
Realism aside, there are 2 pages under Help that specifically state straw can be used for chaff.

Re: queston about weeder

It does say plowed fields yield 10% more, and this lasts for 3 harvests, so the other 2 harvests you only need to fert 3 times to get your 200% Right, I get that. And under Plowing it says: Plowing Use a plow or cultivator to aerate the ground before you sow your crops. It didn't seem (based on tha...

Re: queston about weeder

Drop your Fert Stages to 1x and cultivate a field (the 10% counts as the whole 100). actually you are wrong again... if you drop fert stages to 1 x the fertilization increases the yield 100% not cultivating.. you must be new here..... Yea I just tested that, you are correct. Either way, if you turn...

Re: queston about weeder

do you mean plow... ? cuz I don't think cultivating gives you 10% No, not plow. Plowing doesn't give you anything (it's just an added difficulty option having to plow every three yields). Common confusion as they use the terms interchangeably - but cultivation is what gives you the 10%. I'm pretty ...

Re: queston about weeder

Oh ... this is just getting more and more confusing ... :confusednew: I just thought of the weeder with sower as a "two in one" machine. Not expecting it to actually weed and sow, at the same time ... :hmm: But ... getting rid of the weed, "before" sowing, kind of makes sense! W...

Yep. My current method is: 1. Cultivate (10%) do you mean plow... ? cuz I don't think cultivating gives you 10% No, not plow. Re: queston about weeder

Yep. My current method is:

1. Cultivate (10%)

2. Weeder while planting oilseed (30%)

3. Pronto 9 - cultivate the oilseed / plant crop / fert in one pass (60%)

Edit: (for root crops i'm not sure i'll do the same, as you need an additional cultivation step)

Correct. You can store it until it's fixed, though.

In any case, if you have the harvester - corn is a much better source of chaff.

Re: queston about weeder

Why would you use radishes instead of fertilizer in the first instance? Oilseed radish - you plant it, it grows one stage, you cultivate it -- and that counts as one stage of fertilization (if you play with 3x Fertilizer States). It's nice for a few reasons: It's cheaper than fertilizer If you use ...

Re: Turning straw into chaff

You aren't wrong - the forage headers that typically handle this (EasyFlow, etc) don't have straw tagged as a viable input. This is probably an oversight (easy fix, you could actually edit the header's xml file yourself if it's the same as fs15). I can't see a reason they would have done this on pur...
