Re: Suspension

How slow is it actually going? IRL the engine will be sized to be on top of the job of powering the mowers and keeping the machine moving, I don't think it's designed to power extra machinery and tow a load around at the same time. The more realistic mod is probably working as designed, unless you'r...

Re: Rostselmash RSM 161 by Giants

Claas claim a possible transport speed of 40kph with their terra trac system, I don't know of any wheeled combines that will top that. From their website: the LEXION 750 is now available as a 40 km/h version. The maximum speed can be attained with the three different track widths of the TERRA TRAC s...

Re: Suspension

Hey Sid, welcome to the forum! Your English is a lot better than my Swedish! Have you tried the mod 'ground response' from Giants modhub? That adds a bit of realism in how machines react to terrain. If you're on PC, there is also the More Realistic mod by Dural, which is available from fs-uk.com . I...

Re: McHale HS2000

Well spotted Guil, I must have missed that line somehow. The ones I was looking at had a series of start and end times for each animation, and I may have been overthinking things!
I'll have to see about getting some time with the computer when I get home and try this out.

Re: McHale HS2000

I could do that, I've already upped the capacity of the square balers I use to 6000l, it just didn't seem right that they held the same amount of material as a round bale. I do like to play as realistically as I can where possible though, and I quite like having stacks of bales dotted around the pla...

Re: McHale HS2000

If you have the auto unload for bale wrappers mod, that will work with courseplay. I assume CP just doesn't account for having two separate tools to unload. I've got it running right now, it's done about 50 bales of first cut with barely a hitch since I remembered to turn the auto unload on! The bad...

Re: New to farming? Ask questions here:

If you have the crop destruction mod, narrow tyres will not destroy crops. Other than that it's just a visual thing AFAIK. I like to put dual wheels on for drilling, wheel weights for heavy draft work, narrow tyres for spraying and wide tyres for everything else. It doesn't seem to make a difference...

Re: New to farming? Ask questions here:

It always amazes me how many people come to a forum to ask simple questions rather than just RTFM!
Thanks for creating a mod that completely changes the way I farm, realismus team. I've spent around 250 hours playing with seasons, and I can't see myself going back now. Giants should employ you guys!

Re: McHale HS2000

That's odd, as I've been using it to do exactly that! Did you try any other wrappers? Perhaps this one has a different hitch?

Re: Great demand question.

Most crop rotations which include potatoes are 5-7 years long, as potatoes deplete a lot of nutrients from the soil. They are often followed by legumes which are good fixers of nitrogen. The farm I used to work on rotated potatoes/spring beans/winter wheat/winter wheat/winter barley on about 3000 ac...

Re: McHale HS2000

There's a Krone variopack round baler with an offset rear attacher which works with a wrapper. The problem is, with a fully fertilised grass crop rowed up with a 9m rake, you have to bale at 3-4mph, or keep stopping so the wrapper can keep up. Edit: sorry, I've not actually tried this wrapper yet, I...

Re: Seasons mod.

Seasons has it's own repair system, and the stand alone mod conflicts with it because they are both trying to do the same thing in different ways.

Re: New to farming? Ask questions here:

Are you using seasons mod? As that disables auto engine starting iirc, and will also cause your vehicles to stop running, take longer to start and eventually refuse to start altogether if don't maintain them. You can maintain vehicles by taking them to a workshop, either at the dealership, on your f...

Re: Great demand question.

I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong, but I don't know of any farm which doesn't rotate their crops to aid soil health.

Re: Great demand question.

I believe the reason for the price dropping was to encourage planting several different crop types, rather than just growing endless soybeans.
