Re: Equipment Era Help

There is a web site called TractorData.com that has listings of all tractors produced that there are still spec sheets for. As for implements I am not sure where you would look. I know when I was growing up(1950-1968) that most of our equipment was either John Deere, Case, IH Farmall, Minneapolis Mo...

Re: Stone Valley by Lancyboi

@Illinois Farmer & Farmercaseih; I grew up around Chrisman, Illinois and we grew Corn, Soybenans & Wheat as primary crops and some neighbors grew Barley & Oats.

On another note the place I grew up was sold to Peabody Coal and the buildings torn down and a big hole dug there.

Re: Stone Valley by Lancyboi

@FarmCatJenkins; I grew up about 70 miles east of San Jose, Illinois and cotton was not grown in that area. In point of fact the weather was not in any way supportive of cotton that far north. That area is primarily corn, soybeans, & wheat. When I lived in that area cotton was not grown much north o...

Re: Whats your favorite job on the farm?

@niggle44; I am 70 years old and have been retired from truck driving since May 3rd this year. I left home in 1969 going into the Navy to keep from being drafted and sent to Viet Nam. Tell your wife I started out with the farming simulator that had Hagenstadt and had the Fahr combine and you had Deu...

Re: Whats your favorite job on the farm?

My favorites were plowing, I love the smell of fresh turned earth, taking care of the animals, and working on the equipment as I tended to break things. I have been off the farm for 50 years but those things stand out.

Re: What are peoples first and favourite tractors.

The first tractor I drove was a VAC Case early 1940's. The second was a Farmall F 20. My favorite would have to be the Allis Chalmers WD 45 Diesel we had till I went into the Navy in 1968.

The spout on the end of the unloading auger does not move either. The grain capacities are the same for all three harvesters.

Re: OCD Players Unite!

@cwattyeso: You can't grow cotton in England, Montana, Minnesota, Germany, or most places where there is a lot of rain and low temperatures. Sugar beets can grow in colder climates but also need about 18 inches of water during the growing season. The temperature for ideal beet production is from abo...

Re: OCD Players Unite!

My OCD deals more with maps that have crops on them that are not grown in the area the map represents. While not a deal breaker, it would also be nice to have the proper equipment that is indigenous to the map.

Re: Mowing vs foraging

There is also more sugar produced when you put up silage than there is with hay. Especially when you use corn instead of grass. The fermentation of corn to silage produces sugars and protein as parts of the silage mix. Hay does as well but to a lesser degree than corn. Sudan grass also makes good si...

Having a grain bed/Livestock sides would make it perfect. Back 50 years ago when I was a kid we had a 1957 International that had a Midwest farm bed that had 52 inch steel sides with extensions that raised up so you could also haul cattle, sheep, & pigs.

MAN tipper here and gone already

I noticed this morning when I got to the mod page a MAN tipper truck like the SX Heavy Pack with the tipper bed on it. I downloaded it and tried it on my Felsburg map and found it would only run 16 mph. I then tried it on Vorpommen Rugen and it was the same speed. In less than an hour the MAN was no...

Re: Digestate Question

@Rasping rabbit, The digestate from the BGA & the farm show in the markets menu. The total on my PS4 is 800,000 liters with the in game silos. If I sell the base silo and get the AJ MF silo from Mercury Farms and add it then I have 1,300,000 liters of digestate.
