Have had some remotely similar experiences with vehicles freezing and refusing to start that was caused by a mod, it took some time before the culprit could be positively identified too.

I was wondering if it is possible to assign another key than spacebar for changing between reverse and forward gears, it is quite annoying that the view always locks in one position because of the conflicting keys(IC Control).

if ur on pc, download seasons mod. it would allow u to sleep through the night. if on console the only solution i see is increasing the speed of time and leaving it for a few minutes
