Re: Small Guide on PC's

Are you sure you want to trust your pc with a cheap SSD? That's pretty much the going rate for a 250GB SSD at the moment. I was looking at getting another SSD as I ditched my 1TB HDD recently and prices for brands I trust were around the £110 mark for 1TB or £70 for 500GB. 250GB are in the region o...

Re: Crop Withering - Seasons

Wheat barley oats and canola can only be planted in spring and autumn not summer on default geo Yeah, I know. Sir_Kutz seemed to be suggesting this only happened to him when he didn’t pay attention to the planting season. My response was saying that could only be summer because in winter the ground...

Re: Crop Withering - Seasons

The only time I've have withering with season is when I didn't pay attention to the planting season. For wheat, barley, oats & canola (the crops I planted) not paying attention to the planting season could only be planting in summer (standard geo). In winter you'd likely not be allowed to work the ...

Re: Crop Withering - Seasons

You couldnt turn it off in 17 either No, but in 17 the rules around withering were simpler. I don’t mind the odd patch of field getting destroyed due to uncontrollable forces or large patches being destroyed if you fail to do something but when all you can do is sit and wait until harvest time seei...

Crop Withering - Seasons

So, I'm in year 2 of seasons and I have all my fields planted with winter crops. No failed germination, all treated with herbicide, all fields a nice deep blue and dark green. Then in mid/late spring suddenly quite large and numerous patches of wilted crop start appearing all over the fields and I h...

Re: Small Guide on PC's

I've added those myself to give myself as much flexibility as possible, but yeah, I don't strictly need them. It's just me trying to make sure I can do most things with it! If you have a definite need then keep it in, if not dump it as its more space in the case used up, possibly more cables, and p...

Re: Auto Steer

I would think something like this would definitely be in line with the scripts already in place in the game, given how the AI functions on its own. All that would be needed is to basically copy and paste the section allowing the AI to keep a straight line and create a key assignment for the functio...

Re: Crop rotation

I'm with OP on this ... I can see that it's a planner/calculator but how does it work? Do you go across the rows? Down the columns? I've tried both ways and I get 0.9 against everything .... Lol, I never even considered it could be row based - I just assumed it worked in columns!! I'm ignoring crop...

Re: Seasons mod (op updated re: bug reports)

please increase the time where grass change to hay. Mow when the grass is relatively wet and drying conditions are poor. I'd have thought the grass must have been very dry when you mowed it if by the time you drove to the farm and back in real time it turned to hay? I did have this happen but I gen...

« But there is no Forge of Empires FS mode where you start with horse and cart and gradually build up over centuries from there.» I’ll buy that one!!! Farmer’s Dynasty is the closest thing to that - you start by inheriting a run down farm you have to fix up and do farm work for neighbours to earn b...

Re: farm subsidies

Actually every farmer started that way. Back in the day, when Europeans came to America. A horse/mule and a plow if you were lucky. Remember the Big Land Rush? People got pieces of land and after several years of farming it, it was theirs to own. Ok, pedant mode on. Obviously way back every farmer ...

Re: Starting your farm...

The most important thing is (1) to have fun, (2) try out everything, and (3) experience the map to its full potential. If you let too many rules decide over your game, you'll be playing another game next month. It's your game, take over, make your own rules and goals and challenge yourself on whate...
