Re: Detailed Anderson DLC Sneak Peek Video

Thanks for that! It'll add some nice options to my farming. A little less happy with the logging trailer as I was hoping it would have the optional winch on the crane arm. When Giants released the equipment list I watched some videos, just to get a feel for what we might expect. The logging loader v...

Re: log lengths and sell price

I was cutting down a few trees to clear some space for some animals and I made a note of a few prices. I was only using a chainsaw and a tape measure mod for the PC, so perhaps not a true size comparison but I found that 10m earned 1292 Cr. The same relative sized tree cut to 2 lengths at 5m earned ...

Re: Using the HAND icon

I've not used the extra strength mod but I find that if I'm carefull I can load up before giving them a gentle nudge from the end of the trailer.

It does however get a bit tricky if you try to unload using the bag lifter with its pallet straps though :hmm:

Re: Repair question

I too realised that going sideways with dropping bits off at either end was the right way, but I also put a pressure washer at one side so I give everything a good clean before I fix it.

Re: Missing Money

I don't know if the cost in real life is that high, but I do know that many hire companies will have a day rate and delivery costs for a machine. If you sign a contract for an extended hire such as weekly or monthly then you would get a reduction in the day rate. I have a little way to soften the bl...

Re: Bale physics?

I had the same thing happen with the same JCB tractor. I've not tried it with any other tractors but I had the same twisting, and catapulting effect. I managed to put two bales down, then when I refolded the empty carrier, the two bales re attached despite them being on the other side of the farm ya...

Re: FS19 pre order

I don't buy games like I used to, but I've pre-ordered the FS19 collectors edition which comes with the various bits n bobs on offer but also the normal mahindra side by side and a farm sim branded baseball cap! I'll be honest, I'm not likely to wear the hat, or the beanie that is the collectors edi...

Re: Show your simulator

I'm feeling decidedly small right now as I'm on a PC version with only a 23" monitor but I'm sitting close enough that it's not exactly small.

Re: How did the farmer find his wife?

There was a man who had grown up with liking tractors his whole life, wallpaper on the walls as a child led to reading magazines as a young man. He'd play farming games in the evenings, and collect various books and models as and when he could, but he never actually got close to evening sitting in a...

Re: Why Farming Simulator?

I just happened to see an online vid of the wood harvester in FS15 and decided I had to have a go and the rest is history. I used to play a lot of games of all manner of types. Driving and shooting stuff, but they kept getting harder and harder and I found it wasn't relaxing any more, whereas I can ...

Re: Tractor spotting on road trips

I saw a tractor working in a field the other night, but part of me wishes I hadn't. A John Deere was muck spreading and seemed to be going over the same grassy ground. As I'm cycling up the hill I see him heading for the gate. He got to the road just ahead of me and I was wishing him to turn down th...

Re: Tractor spotting on road trips

I saw an usual sight on the way to work the other day, A fairly large New Holland with a trailer, parked on the foot path. It struck me as an odd place to be given there's nothing even approaching a farm in the area. He must've been having a bad morning as I passed I could see he was trying to move ...

Cold I can deal with, but not some of your arctic colds on here.. Right now it's just wet.. I don't like cold and wet..

The other morning I set off to work on my cycle and I passed a street sign that read -5°C Most days it shows 2 or 3

Re: What cars do you own at home?

I've had two extremes at the same time. Land Rover Series IIA from 1966 which worked its way through 3 chassis, 6 axles, 3 engines, two gearboxes, and sundry other bits.. The last job I did was a new bulkhead, By the time I was forced to give it up, all I had left was the bonnet, the roof and 1 piec...
