Re: What's going on, on your farm?

We just finished the harvest at Hoosier Heartland farms putting over 82,000 bushels of crops in our silo complex in wait of better prices. The seeding of winter wheat and barley is nearly complete. When that is finished I am selling my interest in Hoosier Heartland and returning to a beautiful farm ...

Re: What's going on, on your farm?

The harvest here at the Hoosier Heartland farm was bountiful this year. We put up over 67,000 bu of various grains and expanded from 367 tillable acres to 428. Just today we trucked our oats, barley and wheat to the Cargill mills and recorded $1,067,079 in harvest sales. The great thing is there is s...

Re: Black Smoke

Crazof, Thank you for the correction, I did state it wrong for the black smoke. But the primary purpose of my original post was discussion of a lot of tractor mods that are displaying a constant stream of black smoke are distracting from the quality of the mod in my opinion. Am I the only one that f...

Re: Black Smoke

I am glad to hear from folks doing the real duty today as my farming life was back in the day when we were using Oliver 60's and 70's and CaseIH was known as Farmall H's and M's along with a few Allis Chalmers WD's and they were all gas engines. So my diesel experience on farm equipment is limited. ...

Re: Black Smoke

I am sure that is the case but I don't think it would be expected on a new or nearly new tractor. What prompted my post is I just down loaded some JD tractor mods and the exhaust was excessive and black. This was from a couple first class modders. My experience is more from the marine world where th...

Black Smoke

I know the black smoke that many tractor and truck mods pump out do not effect the game play but I don't think it is completely realistic. If a farmer is running a $500,000 tractor and it is pumping out black smoke he is likely going to have his tractor in the repair shop. Black smoke is an indicate...

Re: What's going on, on your farm?

Happy New Year to all you virtual and real farmers! I am just finishing harvesting the third season on my new location on the Hoosier Heartland map. I am just starting to harvest the last field of 63 acres of soybeans. With what product I already have stored in my silo and the soybeans should pay of...

Re: Contract Work Solution

I have never encountered the situation discussed as I have only owned two harvesters at the same time on FS17 and even then I did not do a harvest contract while harvesting my own fields. But I think this could be solved if either Giant or the modders could attach a filed of origin key to the load s...

Re: Contract Work Solution

I like doing contracts, but I am selective in terms of dollars offered. I generally only take on jobs $10,000 or greater. There are a couple of options I would like to see in the contracts scenario, like doing more than one contract at a time. Another option would be to look at the contract options ...

Re: What's going on, on your farm?

Well harvesting my soybeans did not go well at all. Had a two day wait for rainy weather and then got about 20% of the crop in when the rain started up again. Waited better than another day before it was dry enough to resume harvesting. As soon as the harvester started to move the remaining crop of ...
