New guy, still learning. Looking into silage for making money (mostly) and it seems there are two schools: corn or grass. I started with grass and now I'm looking into corn. Yes, a slightly lesser yield per year (with seasons) but less time spent mowing etc.

Do cows without food produce slurry/manure if all other requirements are met?
The long story:
I plan to have 2 barns
* Barn 1 for mature cows which breed and produce milk
* Barn 2 for calfs and beef.
Milk cows (calfs) don't need food just to get the age for start producing ...
