As for the vehicle inspector mod, does it say anything in the f1 menu? Don't use it myself, so that'll be the limit of my help on that.

If you want to torment your system, you can change the radius to ridiculous distances.

Be aware, it is extremely taxing on the system, and you can really mess up your performance a lot.

If it is that map makers sometimes makes big changes to their maps, that a new savegame is required, the solution is simple , Don't updated the map.
