Re: let's do the math on fertilisation contracts

I actually did these calculations myself and compared them to the amount of profit you make if you borrow the equipment. Being reimbursed for borrowed equipment gives the illusion of higher profits, but in the case of small jobs as the OP demonstrates I've found you can actually lose money on the jo...

Re: Contracts disappearing?

Well, it seems this is the new direction the game is going with contracts. They'll be good for supplemental income if you have nothing to do on your own farm, but not a major source of income. It seems the NPC farmers will also be doing the most lucrative/easiest jobs themselves (such as harvesting)...

Re: J.D/ CASE seeders?

OP, have you tried the Bourgalt seeders from the mod hub, released by GIANTS themselves? Those are some monster seeders.

Re: Horses

Honestly OP, I don't see why you are struggling with so many aspects of the game. I find all the information I need in the in-game help section and in the FS Tutorials. I've never had to watch any YouTube videos for further information, but then I admit I'm a veteran player (started with FS 15) so ...

Re: J.D/ CASE seeders?

In the base game, the largest seeder is the Amazone Citan 15001-C at 15 meters wide. There are two planters in the base game wider than that: The Kinze 4905 Blue Drive (18.2 meters) and the John Deere 1775NT (17.8 meters). Edit: sorry OP, I misread your post. You are right, planters in the base game...

Re: contract work

I conducted a simple test on the Elm Creek map with a fertilizing job. Before accepting the contract, I saved my game and then took the job using borrowed equipment, making a note of how much fertilizer I started with (1,000 liters) and how much I used for the job (250 liters). I then quit and reloa...

Re: contract work

If you borrow equipment to do the contract, they reimburse you back the cost of any seed or fertiliser left in the seeder etc It should be noted that you are only reimbursed if you borrow the equipment. If you use your own equipment, you aren't reimbursed. Supposedly, the pay from the contract shou...

Re: Contracts disappearing?

Also if you lease the equipment, when you return it you get reimbursed for any seed/fert left in the equipment. I haven't been reimbursed for any fertilizer or spray left in the leased equipment when I returned it, much like I won't get reimbursed for selling a spreader or sprayer that is filled. S...

Re: Contracts disappearing?

Several times on the Elm Creek map, I end up losing money on fertilizing or spraying jobs when I use my own equipment on small fields. I spend more for the fertilizer or spray than I earn. The only time such jobs are profitable is if I have enough left over fertilizer or spray from my own field wor...

Re: Contracts disappearing?

but I still have to pay for the chemicals or seed out of my own pocket. Depending on the equipment being used and the size of the field, that cost can actually end up being more than I earn for the job. When you take your car to a garage for a service do you supply him with oil, coolant, washer flu...

Re: Grass Bales

On the base game maps, the animal dealer should accept grass either baled or loose. On mod maps I've played, it's been the same.

Re: Contracts disappearing?

I never really liked contract work anyway. Here's why: when I hire an AI worker, I have to provide the equipment and chemicals to do the job. When I take a contract, I have to provide the equipment and chemicals for the job myself. True, I can borrow the equipment, but I still have to pay for the ch...
