Re: Bunker silo for fermenting Alfalfa

Rodha, I ran into the same issue on Stone Valley. Planted a bunch of Alfalfa for silage only to find out the clamps wouldn't accept it. I ended up baling it all, storing what I needed, and selling the rest of the bales. It was pretty disappointing because I planted ALOT. Lol.

Re: What's going on, on your farm?

That's a rough deal for Clarke Farms. That ol' 9330 was a good looking tractor. I subscribe on YT, but same as Deere317, no other social media accts.

Re: Seeder/cultivater question question

May not be best thread for question, but it's somewhat related. Just started Griffin with PF and Seasons (this is first run with PF). I think I read somewhere that with PF, fertilizing while planting no longer has an effect. Is that correct? Was hoping that even if I only required one fert state, I ...

Corn
Winter Wheat
Double Crop Soybeans
Stone Valley Map
I have one large grass field for hay and usually take some corn for silage. Not much though compared to what's planted.

Re: ALFALFA?

Soooo.... Does afalfa have to reach a certain growth stage before it can be mowed? It is on the final green stage now, but it can't be mowed. Looking to bale it for hay since using it for silage was a bust. Done with alfalfa after this round for sure.

Re: ALFALFA?

So, back again. Alfalfa is showing in final growth state, I'm a bit impatient, no answers, so I try cutting a load to go towards silage. Btw, I'm on Stone Valley and PS4. I'm using the 8600i JD harvester with the hook lift rig (not sure what to think about it quite yet, but that's a different subjec...

Re: ALFALFA?

Update... I attempted to mow Alfalfa in last green growth state; not happening. Haven't tried yet, but I assume i also need to wait on chopping it for silage?

Re: ALFALFA?

I too am on my first run with Alfalfa and have a couple of questions. I planted a large amount on Stone Valley and plan to use it for hay and silage. It on the darkest green of growing stages now. I assume what I'm going to cut and bale for hay should be cut now? Also, for the silage, do I cut it no...

Re: Screenshots

That's a good looking pic Fenix. I would have thought Seasons would've prevented harvesting in snow because of moisture. Appears it's possible, or is the ability to do so because settings can be altered with your PC? You can turn crop moisture off in the Seasons settings. I'm on Xbox. Thanks for th...

Re: Screenshots

Really pushing it to get done this year. Crops came up late due to a very cold spring, thus they didn't get ready to harvest until late fall. I just barely finished soybeans and sunflowers before this snow. This is the first time harvesting in snow in FS. Love it! https://image.giants-software.com/...
