I a general rule, you don't want to have two crops back to back.

And (I'm assuming Seasons, don't know anything about Precision Farming) wheat & barley are the same crop type (cereal).

Play with the rotation planner and see which plan gets you the biggest yield bump.

That's a tough one. When did Seasons come out for consoles?

On a positive note, Custom Modding posted that the JD air drill has finished testing with Giants. Whether or not that means it'll be out this week or not, who knows.

I only tried it out briefly but didn't have any issues to speak of.

It must've been a mod. I don't remember that ever being in the base game.
