Re: Frontier Design - Discussion Topic

I'm curious where you heard that you could bale compost. I can't recall reading it anywhere and I'm fairly well acquainted with Oakfield. How did you try to bale it? AFAICS the only way it might work is if you tipped it on the ground and drove over it with the baler. It seems like an odd feature if ...

Re: McHale 998 with CoursePlay?

Just to add I've been testing it on a fresh save on GCV, no mods except CoursePlay, follow me, auto unload for round balers, the McHale wrapper and creator tools (to cheat the money in) to rule out conflicts.

McHale 998 with CoursePlay?

Found this mod of a McHale 998 on the usual suspect sites https://fs17.lt/mchale-998-v-1-1/ , my Google-fu is letting me down on finding an original link. It works well, the animation isn't the best, but it's ok. I can't get it to auto-unload with CoursePlay though, has anyone had any success with t...

Re: What happens if you put seasons on a map and it's not seasons ready?

Grass bales will always rot with seasons. It's just hay and straw which can be left uncovered if the map isn't seasons ready.

Re: [FS17] Feedback

Surely growing crops in places where crops grow naturally is more desirable than farming in a desert by (presumably) pumping water from aquifers? I would like to see some form of agronomy in the game, introducing pests, weeds, fungi, pH and nutrient levels à la FS15's soilmod would add another level...

Re: Courseplay, what am I doing wrong?

You could test it by starting a new save on goldcrest valley, deselect all mods except courseplay and try it using in game equipment to rule out a mod conflict. Some tractors/trailers don't get on with CP too well IME. If you can reproduce the issue with vanilla equipment and no mods selected, try p...

Re: Maplefield Mill

Totally agree with you there, Jessi. I find that once I've made enough money to not have to worry about spending, I soon get bored and start looking for a new map to play. Oakfield is the most fantastic, beautiful map I've played. Pretty much everything about the map suits my play style, but after 2...

Re: Courseplay, what am I doing wrong?

When recording courses for the grain transport mode, the first waypoint should be about 10m before the silo's pipe. CP will then detect the pipe and line the trailer up to fill when you start the course or when it loops around to do it's next run. If you don't want to rerecord the course, you can se...

Re: What happens when a vehicle reaches its end of life?

Seasons has it so that once the repair cost exceeds the value of the machine (iirc) it is impossible to repair. This wasn't very well received when it was announced, although I've only encountered it once. Tried to repair my Amazone Pantera after 25 hours in a year, only to find the option greyed ou...

Re: Issues planting grass with seasons.

Are you saying that the grass doesn't grow if you leave it in the field? The first stage after sowing is harvested (weird I know) and grass doesn't grow every transition like other crops, just certain times of year. These factors could make it seem like the grass isn't growing, but given enough time...

Re: Oregon springs question??

What Patrick said. If a field has missions available and you don't do them, the farmer does it themselves/finds someone else to do it. If the field isn't set up for missions, the ai doesn't have the boundaries to work it themselves, so it lies fallow until you do something with it. The process to se...

Re: seeded crop not there

If you planted barley in summer, that was outside of it's planting window, and would be why it reverted to a harvested state. This is done to show that the crop failed to germinate. It s u c k s, but you'll have to plant those fields again. If you have a direct seeder, you can just do one pass and b...

Re: Show your stats

In my previous car I came across 111111 km's, a nice figure, so I took a photograph :) I took a photo of my first car's odometer when it got to 123456 miles. If I keep my current one another year it might make it to 234567! My dad's a trucker and has put over a million km on two different units tha...
