Re: Soys, Canola & Sunflower always in the Green?

I noticed this also over the past week or so. I've never seen a wheat/barley price "in the green" So I just figure it doesn't light up like that, and just look for good prices. Generally, if you're a little patient (i.e. wait a day, but not more than 2 days) - you can get prices 1400/1300/1200 for s...

Re: loading logs onto train

also, if i remember from FS15 you got less money when dumping them in the water. not sure if its the same here I wondered the same, and tested it this weekend. Had a trailer full of logs of all shapes and sizes, saved the game, unloaded them onto the sawmill log sale point (UAL script, 10 seconds, ...

Re: loading logs onto train

I have not tried this, but from what I can tell using the UAL script trailer - this could work very well. The mod trailer unloads the logs 1 by 1 about 2-3 meters to the left or right, so you could drive up next to the train and do that and it should load ok. That said, I personally think the log pa...

Re: Hard difficulty need to be reworked.

I'd like hard mode to be harder... Maybe some random events that make you lose a harvest... drought, then fires, then tornadoes, then a band of viking raides steal half your livestock... Maybe a possibility to purchase stock in an insurance company? Really some crazy events would spice things up......

Re: Forestry

I've finally invested in forestry equipment. AFter FS15, and doing bales since FS13, I didn't rush into this. I did do quite a lot of tree clearing to expand fields and clear headlands, using a chainsaw, front loader, and wood chipper. I use the big Ponsse cutter, a Man branded truck pulling the log...

If you find one for this, I'll be so happy. when I looked recently, the only decent ones I could find for a PC were ~250 US.

Sounds like FS13 - FS15 :)

Re: [PS4] economy ?

Yes, Masterplan -- 100% of online games were grass on every field, doing nothing but mowing for silage. I think the price was like 1600 compared to 400 now. (note, they did increase the yield of chaff from corn by like 2.5 times, so that method is still quite good.) Mowing for silage is also still q...

Re: Ferteliser/manure/liquid manure usage per m2

1) sorry, I don't know. But I would guess on the order of 25,000 liters per acre. Which if I remember when I researched it a bit, was pretty much what farmers used to put on cropland - FS might have it be 25k per hectare but I think it's per acre - a full load of the stuff does NOT go very far at al...

Re: [PS4] economy ?

I'm pretty sure this is because it's a standard rule for Giants to always have at least one thing that is dreadfully broken, economy-wise. Before, in FS13, it was mowing grass and silage. In FS15, they kept the broken silage and added ludicrously high income from new function forestry. Now, in FS17,...

Well of course you haven't offend anyone, don't worry about it. You know, for me 5mbits/s are not much at all, it reminds me back in early Internet days when we have those SLOW dial ups with some kbs/s and in order to download IE or Netscape we needed 7-8 hours  My old roommate was the innovat...

Re: Can't sow one of my fields

Never happened to me. I will say though, that it's very likely you've made some sort of mistake. I made a similar one where it took me 20 minutes to figure out that potatoes took a bit longer to grow to the "remove tops" stage, and I ruined a good swath of my field driving over it before it was read...

Re: Yield fields, fertilizers, livestock data

It's important to incorporate yields into your choices of crops to grow. Not just price. And also straw, that's super good too even if it's not obvious. Personally, I do not see a single crop that is far and away better than the others. I note that canola produces a bit more per hectare than sunflow...

Re: Are greenhouses really that good?

I really like my greenhouses. And they actually are a solid investment, providing as much return as cows and roughy 2.5 times as well in % basis compared to solar/wind/bees. I like how they are a great natural outlet for solid manure, rather than selling it. So I fertlise all my fields with slurry f...
