Re: Wrapped bales vs Silage Collection

Wrapped bales take a while to do, but I completely agree that the nice 1470 price is something I take advantage of. I bale everything up, stack the bales in front of the barn, wrap them right there, and use a tractor with a leveller to push them into the barn for phat lewt. That said, I did just buy...

Re: Cover Crop Question

What I read in Drmattymd's answer is "we do not use cover crops in the way that radishes are used in FS. We do plant later crops, but we harvest and sell them - we don't plow them into the soil to enrich the soil (i.e. converting sunlight into biomass that biodegrades under the surface)." When I was...

Re: Super tiny map

p.s. - had a look at Silvercrest 3.0 today. It's spectacular. Cannot recommend this edit enough. It's simply gorgeous. I ran around for almost an hour going 'that's a great change. Wow, nicely done. That's a great change. Another great change. Oooo this is neat. Oh I love how this is two fields now....

Re: Biogas vs livestock and manures

Not 100% sure I clearly understand your question, but a few comments/observations that might help: 1) Producing silage in the BGA is profitable without a doubt and worthy of productive effort. I view the additional production of slurry view this method as a bonus. 2) Cows primarily produce money via...

Re: When to use Slurry/Manure over fert

I changed all of the manure and slurry vehicles in my game to only use 1/5th the material, since consumption was so crazy high. It worked out well for me as with about 60 cows and about six fields I sort of kept up with it and even worried that I would run out of slurry. Then I put 300k grass throug...

Re: Which farm mod do you recommend?

Silvercrest is a great edit of Goldcrest - lots of very nice work here. Animals on the homestead and nice alterations to sell points, etc. Stevie edit of GC is also worth a good look. - animals near (not on, so much) the homestead, and lots of edits to fields to make them more square and flat, and b...

Re: Best Land Tractor

As others have said, it's Case by Case (pun not intended, but still there haha!) Personally, I have four different tractors and use them for different purposes as my farm and my equipment stable evolves. Right now I have: 1) New Holland T6 with narrow tires. Use this little guy almost exclusively fo...

This.

Cows and sheep have other means of income. For pigs to only have reproduction as income it needs to be higher to balance

haha, fair enough Big C. Re: "too many" sheep -- remember that the wool pallet place holds several pallets now. It's not like 13 and 15 where if one pallet filled up you had to rush over there and move it or lose any further production. 100 sheep produce 1.15 pallets per day on average, if you clean...

Re: Are pigs REALLY worth it? Or I am just wasting my time, effort, and money? / How to sell pig food?

The Piggies are worth it. I stopped buying them at 2500. They breed like rabbits!! I now have over 3000 and sell them back at 1000 a piece. once your over 3000 the reproduction rate is about every 2-3 minutes or 1000 bucks every 3 minutes of game time. Yea Piggies are worth it. I suspect if you inv...

Re: Are pigs REALLY worth it? Or I am just wasting my time, effort, and money? / How to sell pig food?

Pigs have an extremly high reproduction rate. About 17% per day. So in 5 days ir whatever you will have doubke the number you bought. The only significant income feom pigs is selling the offspring at 1200 bucks each. Sheep you sell wool and cows you sell milk. Giants dont want us selling bacon it se...

Re: Power food weird or me messing up?

I think the way this is designed is just daft, as someone said above. Essentially power food is mostly straw, the way it's designed. i.e. you put in 12k hay/silage and 4k straw and get 10k hay/silage and 6k power food. take away 10k of the 12k hay/silage (that you could have just fed them directly),...

Is it possible to ignore a thread, so it doesn't appear or at least doesn't appear as unread every time somebody adds a new post?
