Re: LossBerg
Love the newer smart TVs, Fael. They're great. My puppy dogs loves me even more now than ever, since I found out I could run most things through my big screen TV. Now I lay on the floor and watch youtube vids, Netflix, etc -- and am a captive audience to his unquenchable desire for tug of war and th...

Re: Train station by pigs? Wood chips?
It looks cool. Part of a good map design is that it looks nice to play on. I would have much much preferred if that building allowed dumping wood chips, and there was a chips sell point accessible from the train at the sawmill. That would have been pretty easy to do, and would have been a good way t...

Re: a couple of questions
I am contemplating getting rid of the weeder and getting a sprayer. They cover a lot more ground with each pass. I am also kind of waiting until my pigs can produce enough slurry to keep my fields fertilized. Don't forget the BGA. It produces "digestate" which behaves exactly the same as ...

Re: Train station by pigs? Wood chips?
This is the "hey, that looks like a great place to put wood chips and be able to unload them into the train! Aw stuff, it doesn't work at all. I saw a mod of this that actually works, to - exactly the same model but it's got a tiny ramp that leads over the pits, for dumping, and a spout on the ...

Dunno - I turn that off. I would assume they do.

Re: What is Universal Auto Trailer
Confirm - logs one works for FS17. Been using it for two days. It's GOLD. I ran my Ponsse around - cut a tree, drag it back to the pile, cut 10 meter lengths onto the pile /repeat. Drive trailer next to pile, click B and watch it fill up. Hit B when it's full so you don't overfill and make a huge me...

Re: What's wrong with square and rectangular fields?
Stevie's GC edit has most of the fields pretty well squared off. Very solid map, indeed. If I wasn't already 150 hours into my Silvercrest playthrough, I would have been on that map.

Re: Does grass and poplar benefit from fertilizer
I think grass has been answered, but just to "chip in" regarding poplars - I don't think they do benefit from fertilising. Based on my experience doing a couple fields: 1) once they're planted, you can't fertilise them again after first growth. Weeding doesn't work either. 2) Once harveste...

Re: Forestry
@topSoil Are you selling more timber or wood chips on Sosnovka FS17? Wood chips at first, while still spending all my money on animals and new fields and new types of equipment. Now that I have a Ponsse, my wood chipper is not used at all. I find that even though chips make more $ per tree, the spe...

Re: Soys, Canola & Sunflower always in the Green?
On the Two Rivers Map of FS13 one of the sell points was a beer brewery--never saw the map in FS15 though. That was a very popular map. Double checked my old FS15 folder just to make sure -- Two Rivers map is there. downloaded 27 December, 2014. Loved that map for it's amazing ambience and layout a...

Re: Silage vs Hay in cow's belly
My understanding of the "hay/silage" component of cow feed is that they are in fact interchangeable if feeding directly. However please note - when you make TMR in a mixer, and then unload it - what you get is 5/8ths "hay/silage" and 3/8ths "Power food" So if you're jus...

Re: Forestry
PLENTY of options early game before you get a lot of money to use a chipper, I found. Those trees that you want removed so your tractors can turn around easier, or that tree that blocks a particular turn, or the one that your harvester has to drive around oddly to get through the path down to the hi...

I'm waiting for the mod to be released, where you deliver wheat, cows, pigs, and milk, and receive crates of bacon cheeseburgers to delivery to Maccas in town.

Re: Soys, Canola & Sunflower always in the Green?
Yup. My experience is in the ballpark here compared to the .xls. I like how it illustrates that there really isn't much of a difference is what you plant -- everything is pretty much equal except beets and taters bringing in double the rest (but clearly taking more than twice the investment in machi...
