Re: Millennial farms

I hear what you are saying about the modders. Really nice American mods are what's really getting to me. The Challenger that dropped a week or so ago, really caught my eye. I don't like them in real life or so I thought. However, it's like the perfect fit for any dairy farm. Throw the New Holland m...

Re: How Big Do You Like to Farm?

I like to play on US maps. I usually start with a 16-row planter and a 40-ft drill, A combine with a 35-ft. flex head and an 8-row corn header, semi & trailer, a 30-40k Liter grain cart, pull-type sprayer. I usually start with 2-3 large fields and a $2.5 million dollar bank loan. Then I work to ...

Re: Reality vs. Game play...

So, my thought is "Be careful what you wish for"... Reality in farming is a truly spooky career. Well said, but the things you mentioned in your post are things that I would welcome for added realism - especially insect issues. To me it would be a lot more realistic to have to do a pass w...

Re: Added Realism

I think the contracting is fine in seasons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you add up all of the contract money on a given field, if you do all the contracts for that field, and add the money of the ~25% Harvest Grain bonus you get...you still end up getting less money than if you owned that field...

Re: Added Realism

Sorry - wasn’t saying that was the problem. But couldn’t that info be given to a player to help them determine how much crop they would yield? Or is it not as simple as that? Listening to you Seb fascinates me. You give an inside the mechanics point of view things here. Much of which I know nothing...

Re: Added Realism

I do also agree with what Illinois Farmer said above that Seasons is already a degree of depth that might be too much for some players. Getting deeper into the weeds might make it more realistic, but also more complicated than fun for a lot of people.

Re: Added Realism

Seb, really appreciate your response and insight. And of course, very very appreciative of the work you guys do, and have done in the past. A lot of us on the gameplay end don't think like a developer because it's something that just goes completely over our heads. What your wrote makes sense though...

Added Realism

Something I've often thought about while playing this game is some minor adjustments that could be made that would go a long way to making the game a true simulator, rather than a farming arcade at times. In particular - with seasons. Obviously many of us would like to see it added to the base game,...

Re: Mods In Testing - Fan Discussion

I figured it out! It was a harvested wheat field, not soybeans. So it must let you seed into harvested small grains but not anything else?

Re: Mods In Testing - Fan Discussion

I tried the DB60 on harvested corn, soybeans and wheat. It does not work... nothing grew and it didn't change the ground at all. Either people got a magical mod or mine is broke...or we got some fibbers lol I tried it again on my save game tonight and couldn’t get it to work... promise I wasn’t fib...

Re: Mods In Testing - Fan Discussion

Its not. First thing I tried after filling it. I just tried it on my lunch break, and... IT ACTUALLY IS!! It does not say in the mod's shop description, but I ran it over a field of harvested soybeans and it was punching corn into the ground with liquid fertilizer! I'm pretty excited to say the lea...

Re: Mods In Testing - Fan Discussion

Has anyone been able to use the DB60 yet? Wondering if it is no-till like JHHG had previously said it would be. Someone on a facebook group I'm in mentioned that it wasn't no-till and I thought it seemed odd. Its not. First thing I tried after filling it. I just tried it on my lunch break, and... I...
