Remove / replace grass from map

Hi, I deleted a building from a map with GIANTS Editor but how can I remove or replace the grass with something else around the same area? I tried the different Terrain Paint modes and it looked ok in the editor but when I play the grass is still there... :/

You have to start a new savegame..
I assume people don't use Seasons, unless they say otherwise.

I tried that but it didn't help.

I painted the grass away by clicking the "Terrain Detail Texture Paint Mode"-button which made the terrain brown and then I removed some grass with the "Terrain Foliage Paint Mode"-button and Everything looked fine in the editor. Then I started a new savegame and the grass was still there. :(

I also deleted a tree and now there is something invisible there blocking passage.

The way I did this was that I only edited the map.i3d-file and replaced the old .i3d file in the zip. When I tried editing the i3d-file and then zipped the whole package and tried it, the game couldn't find the map.

Also, how do I change the texture on the ground from, for example, dirt to gravel when painting?

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
