planting with a hired worker doesn't work

when i use a planter on a field on the Oklahoma map it plants the like 5 seconds later the hired worker stops

Is it possible the field is already planted?

If that's not the case, then what seeder are you using? Is the seeder a modded seeder? Have you tried one of the in-game seeders? What type of crop are you planting? Did you harvest a crop off this field? If so, what type of crop?
