Is This Computer Build a Good Price for it and Should I (possibly) Get It?

Hello fellow community,

I found the perfect build I want to make for myself, here are the parts:

EVGA GTX 960 2GB SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling Graphics Card
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B2 80+ BRONZE
Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB Kit, DDR3, 1866 MHz
AMD FX-8320E Eight Core Black Edition
ASUS 970 Pro Gaming/AURA ATX DDr3 AM3 Motherboard

Tell me what you think! I am not going to order this stuff until Christmas of this year (2016). It is under $600 for the parts. I am still going to use my Apevia case.

Personally, i would get the 4gb version of the videocard and change the psu to the 600w version, you really don't need 750w for a single card. Having said that, i play a lot of games and if I'm remembering correctly you said fs is the only game you play, if that's the case that 2gb card would be more than enough because i can't see fs17 changing much. The 4gb is more future proof however.

To echo what trogladitez said, I would spend the extra $$ on the 4GB graphics card. This gives you better options.

I'm not a fan of AMD so I really don't know much about that CPU.

While you didn't list it, I would assume you know the advantages of SSD drives. I would expect these prices to continue to drop as time passes.

I didn't list a ssd because I don't need one and they are little too $$$ I saw like a 256 gb one and they are like $100 plus.

Best advice is to forget about a list of parts until you are ready to buy. 9 months is a huge timeframe in tech.

That's all well and good but you will get much better value for your money and performance if you wait until you're ready to buy before deciding.

How much would I save? You mean like sales around Christmas time?

There is no exact science to tell you how much you may save.....

Computer hardware pricing is very much fluid. As the cycle changes with new and better components coming into the market, the components you identify today may drop in price. But their availability may also become scarce and that may drive the price up. A good example is the Logitech G27 wheel setup. Last year I purchased my G27 from Amazon for $219 brand new. Now that the G29 is out the availability of the G27 has caused the price to skyrocket with new G27's selling on Amazon for $399 and up with used models going for $319.

Of course, you're talking about computer components and not steering wheels. But the same could happen. The motherboard and CPU you have identified today, may not be available later in the year. But also just as important, perhaps a better CPU is available later this year.

I think what you've done in identifying a parts list and how much you would need in today's money to build that system is a good plan. Just keep in mind that in the computer industry, 6+ months is a long time. Things will change. Save your money and keep flexibility in mind when the time comes.

Like JTaylor801 said the prices will be much different when you get around to buying the part's because of newer part availability.
I also bought a Logitech G27 wheel at the time it cost me £230, a few weeks later in the same store it was £160, (this was before the g29 was available)
I was quite disappointed that the price dropped so much in so little time after I had bought it.... It has since gone back up in price and actually cost's more now then what I paid.

My point being... The hardware you have selected will probably drop or even increase in price before you buy it in 7-8 months time, Newer hardware will be available for a similar or even cheaper price.
If you are planning to upgrade near Christmas it would be better to price thing's up a month or so before hand, not this soon, as no one can say for sure what it will cost you or what will be available in half a year's time.
