So I really enjoy farming sim 15 for pc and all the ones before. I have always been a big fan of the mods for it, But this year mods seem like it is hard to find a safe site to download from. So my question is other than on the offical site is there any other safe mod sites that dont have link after link of download tabs and massive pop up spam type stuff?
Basically if I click on truckmod right there is the mod link not having to go to this link then another then another.
What is the Top rated mod site.

Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
I've found most of the mods I use on Modhub http://www.modhub.us/
and
FS-UK http://fs-uk.com/
There are many more sites. But I guess I've been lucky and just found what I've needed on these sites.

Giants, FS-UK or ModHoster.com
ModHub is a rip site...you know when modders add that part in the release notes stating that their mod should not be uploaded to another site without permission? ModHub is one of the many sites that ignore that and post the stuff anyway. I guess they get a few pennies of revenue from all the hits.

Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
I get the stuff downloaded but I can't figure out how to unzip the files and add them to my game.
Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
Really? Someone asks this about once a day....really hope Giants makes things a bit more intuitive next time around.
Don't unzip them unless it says to do so in the release notes.
Zips go in your/MyDocuments/MyGames/FarmingSmulator2015/mods folder.
Then in the store, click the arrow in the upper right corner to go to the Mods section of the store.

Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
I do not think there is one? They all have Junky and/or stollen mods and/or pop-ups,viruses,.... Now I'm sure there are some that do not agree with that? But that's just opinion...Most of the mods I have are from the Giants wed site And even some of those mods are not that good either....
All I know is I have wasted alot of time weeding throught alot of mod site and it is the same old same old thing with all of them....

Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
Is it the responsibility of the mod site to validate the mods are of top quality? That they actually work? Or that the mod ownership/authorship is "as advertised"? I'm not sure this is a reasonable ask.
There will always be some level of trash, junk or out-right stolen mods out there. While it is unfortunate, I think it is up to the community to help these mod sites by leaving comments about the quality of the mods etc. where we can.
I mentioned mod hub in my original reply because in all honesty, this is the site where I've had the most luck in finding really good mods. I also know one of the mod developers who posts his maps out to mod hub. What I like about mod hub is they allow comments and I read through these comments and rely on the experience from others as to whether the mod is worth downloading and installing.

Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
I think they should if they want to be called a Top rated mod site? But the risen there are more junky mods then high quality mods is because you have other guys/gals that try to edit mods that they did not make. And really mess them up. Which pi** off the guy/gal that made the mod and now they do not even upload any more of there high quality mods. Which leaves more junky mods then high quality ones.... To bad that someone can't think of a way to lock a mod from being re-uploaded with out a code..... If that is even possible?JTaylor801 wrote:Is it the responsibility of the mod site to validate the mods are of top quality?
Re: What is the Top rated mod site.
I agree Farmboy002.
FS-UK.com is the only one That I know of that actually test every mod they post on their site. Hence the very limited # of mods on their site. They are give it a Silver or Gold rating. They don't post any mods with errors.
Of all the sites I use, I had not experienced any viruses from the mods themselves. True, many are not good or didn't work. Esp. in the beginning when FS15 first came out. But ones lately have not been too bad.
As far as the ads. I don't see any ads when I go to these sites. I have over 10 in my bookmarks. Ever since IE uses Java and many users were getting virus left and right from Internet Explore ads and spyware back n the day. Prior to IE7 i think. I switched to Mozilla's Firefox web browser. It does not allow Java script. It has a very good popup blocker. I also use the NoScript add on. This application does not allow secondary pages to load unless you tell it too. You must "Train" your browser to accept certain webpages to "Always Allow" or "Temporary" allow web pages. Temp allows only one time load in the session. Then you have to allow it again if you return to that page. Also ads do not show up on the main page. hey will be blocked. The only drawback is you have to find the right URL to allow pages if you have to fill in information. But with NoSCript, you can right click on it and it will let you know what that URL is and does and if it is safe.
Now back to the downloads. When I click on the download link, I don't see nothing but the download button. It bypasses all the ads that are used to pay help fund the site. So 2 clicks later of "blank" pages I am at the file download page.
www.farming2015mods.com is my main site to get my mods. I do go to ModHoster.com sometimes. They seem to have a good variety of script mods.
For example:
This is the main page of the mod.
This page will show twice and then this is my last download.
