Introducing the Community Manager Lisertan

Hello,

If you’ve kept an eye on the job listings on our GIANTS Software website recently then you might have seen that we were looking for a Community Manager. This forum is important for us, as well as the communication via social media channels. With the Community Manager as dedicated contact this will now become more organised and understandable for both sides – you and us. Other GIANTS employees will continue to read threads and post here too, the Community Manager will coordinate this process though and can point everyone towards things that he or she should keep an eye on.

From now on Lars Malcharek alias Lisertan, who’s already gathered years of experience as Community Manager in the videogames industry, will dig through the threads here, collect your feedback and find answers to your questions.

However I think it’s important to point out that this does not mean that Lars will have (or can give) an answer to EVERYTHING (e.g. the typical “When will we get XYZ?” questions when it’s just not decided or ready for an announcement yet) but he can and should be seen as your advocate. As much as he will deliver official information, he will also report back to the rest of the team what you like, wish or dislike.

Please give him some time to adjust himself. After our talk yesterday I feel like we have to set him loose though and let him post on the forums otherwise I fear the excitement will make him explode!

Ok, Lars! It’s your turn to introduce yourself.

Ok, time to say hello.

Hello :)

I’m Lisertan (aka Lars) and I’m the newest addition to the GIANTS family. I’m 38 years old and I’ve grown up in Duisburg/Germany. One could say I was born with a controller in my hand (does anyone remember the Atari 2600 or the Commodore C64? Well.. I do), so when I got the chance to work in gaming as well, I took it. I started back in 2008 as a Community Manager and I’ve worked on various MMORPGs since then.

Duisburg is a rather big town in Germany, so my childhood wasn’t exactly dominated by farming, but I always loved the huge machines, so I started playing Farming Simulator. When I saw the CM position popping up on the GIANTS website, I couldn’t resist and applied – well and here I am.

You’ll see more from me over the next days and weeks, but please give me a little time while I get the hang of the community. I’ll be your voice here at GIANTS and I’ll be GIANTS voice here in the forums and I follow a simple rule: No ********! I’ll always be honest with you guys, even if that means my answers might be „I don’t know“ or „sorry, I can’t talk about this right now“.

I’m looking forward to talking to you all in the future.

Cheers
Lars ‚Lisertan‘ Malcharek

First of all welcome Lisertan *thumbsup*

I hope you'll enjoy your time with us and Giants.

In the mean time I'm personally very happy to hear that a very experienced specialist has been assigned to a very important task.
At last I feel that I can be sure any topic or post I'm citing Giants or a problem will be read and evaluated even if my topic/post is left un-replied.
Although replies are important for us as they assure that you've seen our comments/complaints/questions, etc. the real thing is the action.
As long as I know there will always be someone capable of and authorized to take action I can live without replies.

Please do not get me wrong on this one, although I'm relatively new to this game and these forums, because of my age (38) I've seen a lot of forums and administrations. I think this forum and its administrative members are one of the best in this regard. All that was needed is some organising and planning in order to keep Giants as up to date as possible about our expectations and complaints.

Thank you for your patience on my long post.

Have a very good and peaceful time among us *thumbsup*

Thank you :)

I have to agree with you on the community here. I've been reading the forums for quite some time now and I like how calm and friendly the community is (well... most of the times). One of the main reasons, why I really wanted to work for GIANTS is exactly this. I've seen huge communities and I've seen a lot of hate and rage and I think it will be nice to be part of a community where people show some respect for their fellow players and try to help them. We all want the same thing in the end: A game we can enjoy, that's why I don't understand all the hate in other forums.

38 is a great age btw ;)

@Lisertan: welcome!

One initial Question: John Deere or Fendt???

(Remember: There's only one correct answer, to not getting beaten up :D )

just joking

I'm not crazy enough to respond to this. I fend(t) off this question.
