HDD/SSD space is your physical space in any device to store data. Hence, all your games, DLCs, mods, etc will take up space on your HDD regardless the fact that you are on console or PC.

Mod space is a completely different thing. I only know the Sony side but if I remember correctly the same goes for XBOX too.
Mod space is an allocated space withing the game. We have only 4 GB of mod space which means we can only install 4 GB worth of mods not more.
This is set by Sony and Microsoft.
PC doesn't have such a limitation.
Mods will still take space from your HDD as you are installing them on to your HDD but they will also eat up from your limited mod space because they are mods.

But DLC is an add-on to the game so there is no limit for that and it doesn't eat up from your mod space.

I hope this is a bit more clear now.
It's the same for XBox. It's silly of Sony/MS to restrict our mod space. It should be our choice if we want to fill the drive with mods.

Actually its not silly, theres a good reason, if you have lots of mods with no restrictions on console, then u have problems

What's the good reason? I can install games until my hd is full, I should be able to install mods until it's full if I like.

Stegei explained it before, can't remember what the reason was but almost certain it was him.

Latest info is, that on PC it's going to be on the ModHub while on PS4 and XB1, it's going to be a DLC.
That is how ALL mods/DLCs should be for PS4 and XB1 considering the limited capacity we have especially for the large file sizes a lot of maps and packs have.

Is there a reason why the terra variant 435 has a slurry tank permanently mounted on it? LIke, was this something that Holmer actually does or is more for the game for some reason?

It is exactly like in reality. That version was created by Holmer as a more lightweight version specifically for slurry handling.
In reality the volume of the slurry tank does not matter that much, as long as you have a constant supply with slurry tender trucks. With smaller lighter equipment on the field you keep soil compaction low.
