"We can have full open worlds, with 2k textures" = Pretty graphics
"tons of objects" = Lots of graphics
"animations" = Moving graphics
"explosive effects" = Sexy graphics
"upwards of half the size of a US state" = Shed load of graphics

yet commented "I literally said nothing about graphics"

If you read the post properly, you'd understand he was talking mostly about processing, and the fact that things can be done that Giants doesn't do. Giants is lucky to have so many people make excuses for them, so they can just ride that and not have to do anything.

"We can have full open worlds, with 2k textures" = loading and processing graphics
"tons of objects" = many variables and processing related to such things as current state, gravity and so on.
"animations" = many variables and processing related to animating tones of objects.
"explosive effects" = same as animation, except often random calculations to track those animations.
"upwards of half the size of a US state" = all of the above.
Graphics are only a part of all that, and I believe he was referring to the processing that other games are capable of.
It appears gav may have misinterpreted the original post as well.
It's common in these threads for people to misinterpret a post and look like a bleep when they respond.

Giants engine is woeful and needs a major overhaul, fully agree with that.

You guys have to get off that ****, people have explained over and over why the game is demanding not to mention it was made to push 6 year old crappy console hardware 4 years ago. Yeah it can be improved but when you compare it to games that are only rendering your small area you are in, then proceed to park 11 bourgault drills hooked up to 11 9rxs next to the maximum amount of stackable bales 1000 cows and a hodgepodge of modded tractors and implement and then get all like f*** giants and their crappy game. We parked four dump trucks in front of the train all messed up in a tunnel and messed up the session everyone got kicked. Supposed ya think the election was fake too huh? Haha
