It won't, I'm pretty sure its just an updated version of the current texture system.

For the curious here are a couple references for Parallax Mapping and Parallax Occlusion Mapping:

Parallax Occlusion Mapping

The Parallax Mapping page has a short video to demonstrate the idea. Here's a Computer Graphics Glossary for info on other terms:

It will be pretty strange when you drive over terrain that looks 3D, and your vehicle appears to be driving on smooth glass.

It doesn't even do that in FS19.

Guys this game is called Farming Simulator how long can you look at ploughed soil or play in the mud? 5-10 minutes?
Let's be serious, there is much more to do in this game than some mud.

While I agree that it might be more of a novelty as far as ploughing goes or getting stuck in the mud but it becomes essential for any kind of realistic potato growing.

Moisture is very important in agriculture. Hope this will be implemented.

This map look very nice, and big. Looks like there's no more "2D edges" and it's pretty neat.

I also love those round corner fields!

I'm liking how everything is looking so far. Can't wait to see how the "3d like" dirt textures look with that new tech they're trying! I just hope they fix the unrealistic look of direct seeding into a harvested field the aftermath is a spotless field with clean soil that looks like topsoil shown here: https://www.farming-simulator.com/cms/u ... 84af32.jpg

Strange how the tractor and implement appears to be driving on smooth glass.

Edit: Appears to be metal on metal, which is significantly different than glass.

The tires are not sinking into the ground at all, and they appear to be made out of metal. Not sure how that looks normal.

We referring to it doesn’t look like it’s driving on glass, not perfect but not nearly as bad as the glass comment implies.

Sorry, I have edited my comment so it's not nearly as bad now. :biggrin2:
