It seems that seasons will bring Months to the game, instead of just the season (early, mid, late) !

Quity wrote: Wed Jun 23, 2021 10:42 am The grapes and olives looks very bad. They form a pattern that is repeated.. in reality you won't see something like that.
I feel that they need to put more attention, for me a simple thing like a random rotation applied on each grapes/olives tree could help a lot to avoid patterns!
This two new fruits looks a lot better on a competitor farming game launched 4 years ago!
I hope is work in progress.
This game is bad anyway.
In reality, farmers go to the toilet. Never seen them do that in this “simulator” though

Anyone reminded of Cows and Crops by the months thing? (Unless I’m mistaken it uses an actual month/year calendar rather than Seasons seasons

Giants never really did the seasonal thing in the first place it’s a mod

I take it that that was aimed at me. Yes I know that Seasons is a mod.

Yeah I was questioning your point, as cattle and stuff doesn’t really use some revolutionary system seeing how it’s been around since Julius Caesar was alive and Giants isn’t really tied to seasonal cycles either besides it was a mod for their game.
Edit: Oh come on Giants can’t you make it so the word stuff shows up at least in that context

I know the calendars been around for a long while, just thought of “that” game with calling months, well months. I guess I’m used to Seasons using seasons (and the associated annoyance of adjusting to the fact spring and New Years aren’t the same)

I am not following what you mean by new years, but there are 2 very simple reasons why we did not use months and instead used the early spring, mid spring etc labelling.

1. It's easier to handle it in the code and by doing this you don't need to do anything extra for northern hemisphere vs southern hemisphere geos. It all just works as it should.
2. We figured it would avoid at least a large percentage of the noise from people keen to point out that where they live they plant wheat in September or whatever.

Spring starts a few months after the actual start of the year. Just one of those things you think of during long play sessions.

Yes, it does indeed in the real world and in the game.
