I don't know why you think the idea of a mobile phone in the game is silly.
"Who would you call, I don't get it".
Call an NPC to accept a contract. Call a hired worker "L" or whatever their name is? Maybe even get an email alert about a great/mediocre demand.
Mobile phones or devices can be useful in games. Perhaps not as useful as a dog or a sand castle, but...

Agreed, I use my phone for everything from my radio, to order seed or fertilizer, it’s how I keep track of the weather, how I line up custom harvesting for the year and how I get help if I’m stuck, I could go on and on. It would make a much more immersive format for the pause menu and a way to get alerts rather than a random message on the screen. What’s silly is it hasn’t been thought to be implemented yet. The child labor is also funny, I don’t know how things are in Europe but it’s pretty common to see small children driving tractors or trucks here, I know I can remember coming home from school as a ten year old and working in corn stalks until dark and I would bet quite a few guys here have similar memoriesFarmBoss wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 3:29 pm I don't know why you think the idea of a mobile phone in the game is silly.

^ Yes, it was called chores when I was a kid, and I had my share.

16 years old are legally allowed to drive tractors in the UK on roads, once they have their licence, and it's a common sight. To drive a car you have to be 18 years old though.
On many farms younger children than that do drive tractors, but only on the fields.
