First Look at Parallax Occlusion Mapping in Farming Simulator 22
In Farming Simulator 22, surfaces will appear more realistic and natural. Thanks to Parallax Occlusion Mapping we implemented in the GIANTS Engine 9. Parallax Occlusion will make the terrain and other surfaces in the game look more detailed and dynamic if the feature is turned on in the settings.
Let's take a look and see what's actually happening.

Love this new feature, it makes the ground look more realistic.

It looks good, very good, especially on the ground. It goes weird on the brick and stone walls, but hopefully that's just you showing us extreme examples rather than how it will actually look in game.
Now we just need terrain working angles to be reworked or ideally removed and you'll have that aspect of the game looking very good for a couple of game versions at least.

@Chaki - ok I'll be the first to admit it. You got me. I saw the link, I converted it, I went to the video....

When can we expect some game-play video?
I'm interested in seeing how Parallax Occlusion Mapping looks as a vehicle drives through the dirt, and leaving tire tracks.

So finally the height map is to be used in the textures, be interesting to see what else is coming for textures, edge maps perhaps or even bc7 compression.
A good free programme for creating your own textures including Height,Normal,Metallic,Smoothness,Edge and AO maps as well as being able to select what maps are used in what colours (RGB) of a specular map it also creates seamless textures by adjusting the x,y offset of a texture available here

It takes a bit of getting used to so its best to watch a couple of video's on how to use it

What video? I saw the link, just not sure what to do with it.

It looks very nice!
Will the vehicles wheels take in account the height maps and bump on higher level like hitting a 3d model?

Really like this addition to Farming Simulator... it's a great way of adding a lot more detail to models as well as the ground and soil textures, without impacting massively on performance.
As Gav mentioned earlier, I do hope with the mention of curved fields that we will finally stop having 90° and 45° angle only soil directions and that some form of Multi Terrain Angle is now default.

Multi terrain definitely needs to be in the standard game at this point.
