Instantly lossing connection once join (xb1)

I've been trying to play with my friend but as soon as either one of us joins each other we loos connection within about 30 seconds, I've played online before with no problems around a year ago, can anyone help as I have no idea what's causing this, we also have fine internet as we both have around 40 Mbps
