with pto of course, but those are speciallised trucks running the exact equipment build for them.

I've not seen many (I know there are some!) trucks in the field that use a similar tractor PTO system that drives Agricultural machinery.
The Holmer doesn't even have a PTO :).

The Tatra and MAN are 6×6 off-road trucks. The 850 is a road truck. So no. That won't happen.

They mean hydraulic PTO, I assume. Not shaft PTO

Well, for regular American semis, the PTO is a hydraulic line that you hook to the trailer It's pulling and it raises the dump trailer cylinder or whatever. I believe its a pump mounted to the trucks transmission. Has a lever in the floorboard. Shaft PTO is probably only on European trucks I'd guess

I don't sweat the no-visible-PTO thing with the 850. I just assume it's ran by the truck's hydraulics. However, I can't bring myself to use a PTO driven implement or trailer with the Big Bud tractors... go figure. :confusednew:

Are you sure you're not getting confused with an airline? Trucks have air compressors and tanks and that's what's used to raise and lower or lift axles.

Trucks can have hydraulic ptos. They come straight off the transmission. Down here in NZ we use them on tip trucks and rubbish trucks also on my old fert spreader it was hydraulic pto that was live drive but the old MAN spreaders had a pto shaft to the hydraulic pump

You're right about lift axles and brakes being run by air, but the dump bed cylinder (or, in the case of our game, the IT runner trailer) is lifted and lowered by hydraulics. There is a hydraulic line from the tractor (truck, semi, whatever you want to call it) to the trailer. The hydraulics are ran by the trucks transmission. Thus, for the purposes of the BSM 850 hook, there is no need for a PTO shaft as we assume the IT Runner trailer (or chaser bin, or whatever) is ran by the truck's hydraulic PTO. :biggrin2:

They only have the hydraulics if a "wet kit" is installed
