Crop Rotation - must I?

Post by ecvia1 »

I thought it was a bug with the Vaderstad cultivator/sower where you couldn't plant the same crop you had just planted in a field.

So I saved and got me a Horshe cultivator/sower and....same thing?

I want to plant canola, harvest it, and plant it again, without having to switch back to barley/wheat (or whatever) before I go back to canola.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a bug in both machines, or do I HAVE to rotate every other crop?

Thanks in advance farmers!

It should be possible. Are you using one of the standard maps (Goldcrest Valley or Sosnovka)? I've haven't tried many out but I think map makers get some control over the game mechanics and just not placing the visual stuff. So if you're playing on a custom map, which one? Maybe somebody who play on it too can check.

So I'm wondering, if I ditched the Horshe and went to an individual cultivator machine as well as a separate sower, I wonder if that would fix this silliness?

Yes I think if you cultivate first you can then plant what you want. You wouldn't have to change seeders, just cultivate first if you want to double crop, otherwise they still work as they should.

Oh ok. Never mind then. I wasn't certain if ecvia was on PC or console, but I will assume console if he is still having problems.

Yeah sorry I should've been clear on my specs. PS4 FS17

I just sold the stupid Horshe and bought two new machines, a cultivator and a sower - lower end models. BOUGHT not leased! :-) Now making a profit again and will work my way up - time will tell shortly if I can plant same crops over same crops.

Thanks everyone and I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Not 100% but I read another thread where they had to plow the field first

Surely with the economy in 17 it's more profitable to rotate crops rather than growing the same thing all the time?

You have to sow a different crop only once, there after you should be able to sow the same crop again. I am in the middle of my harvest of "a different crop". But I excpect to sow normally again after this. I am changing my seeding plan now anyway, cause my 66ha field I need for corn to keep up with the 10.000 pigses :D
