Never combined corn IRL before, have seen it but never done it. We stick to small grains, soybeans, and peas. I am used to about an average of 4mph @ 40 feet when she's cutting good, but thats with 570 ponies pushing me along.

Wow! We usually harvest around 3.5 mph for soybeans and usually 4-4.5 mph for corn on my grandpa's JD 9770. It has an 8 (608C) row corn head and a 35ft bean platform.

Have to keep the rotor at capacity somehow, we have a bunch of 1/2mile long fields so the ability to make a full round in corn is worth sticking with the 6row, even if the combine could handle a 12 row.

Yeah I agree Paul, it is worth it if you stick with the smaller stuff. The 8 row is much better because we can go faster, but yet not get full so fast. My grandpa's combine could handle a 12 row, but it's probably better to stay at an 8 row.

Going faster really tells you how sharp your snap rolls are however......:D

Found an easier way to handle the task at hand: Dump the existing Harvester at el an purchase New Holland with both New Holland heads.
All is fine!. Without taking on any additional debt.

Thanks!

Lol I'm super late as usual, but we catch our corn with the F2 Gleaner. The bean header ain't much count, so we bought a JD 6620 last year.

lexiontech wrote:There is no case ih corn head in the game that fits the 1660, the Capello Quasar F4 is the header to use on this combine. Is this header not showing up in game or were you looking for a case ih header?
When u use the quasar f4 it's too narrow. The left side of the combine runs over corn i use the 8 row folding head little heavy for this combine but gets the job done.

Ah cool! Nice little machine you got there. *thumbsup*

You guys were smart to buy a JD 6620, those machines are pretty boss, just something about that generation of JD combines clicks with me. Probably because they look the best. I like the squareness and the decals they have them. The whole design was a great idea.

^^ It's a good ol combine. If I had a 313 bean head for the Gleaner we probably wouldn't have bought it
