Question for Steam players

Post by mountaincowboy »

Hello all, I'm getting my PC set up to play FS17 and was curious about Steam. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

I've always used steam and never had a complaint. Updates can sometime be behind the direct version but not by much.

Steam is the only way I have bought games in years. Once you go stram you may never go back. It is just so easy and convinent. And all your games are there and easy to get to.

If you have ever thought, man i wanna play that game again. But have either lost or thrown away the game, Steam is for you.

Is there one that's more beneficial over the other as far as digital or hard copy?

Well on Steam you don't have to think about updating the game as it's automatic
And you can download it as many times as you want on Steam, without having to contact Giants for a download limit reset

Ok, thank you for your reply. So do most get the hard copy along with the digital just for an Incase needed backup?

With steam you never beed a backup, all your games purchased from steam appear in you steam library. You can delete the game and reinstall it anytime you want. Heck you can install it on 100 different computers at once if you wanted (would only be able to play 1 at a time, though), all you will need is to remember your steam account and password... buying a hard copy and a steam copy is just throwing extra cash at Giants...

Also with steam you can send other steam players gifts. I surprised my son with a copy of FS17. I thinks he's hooked now.

Steam syncs the game as well to allow playing the same map on different PCs

As long as you buy it as a gift. Once you own it yourself, then you can not gift it to someone else even if you don't play it anymore. With Steam, once it's in your library, it's there for good.
