Some tips for starters

Post by Heisman1125 »

Silage for starters: The mod that keeps price the same as long as there is silage in the hopper is great. I find using grass cheaper and easier. Mower and loading wagon to start with. Usually you can't afford a loader so I just make a big pile on the ground by the hopper with silage so I don't have to carry it so far with the small bucket on the tractor loader. That way I keep ahead of the hopper till i can afford a bigger bucket. Later on I'll buy a smaller field close to biogas and hire the mowing and rowing. You can mow over the downed grass time and time again so when you windrow it the rows will be worth the time.

Also, getting the most crop sold for the price listed I back up as many trailers as i can to the unloading spot. The ramps can only back up 1 on each side but the bigger ones can take more. As long as you're still dumping grain in the grate you will keep the starting price.
