I've heard "fifth wheel" being used for the trailer hitch on a semi truck from a couple of American farmers in youtube videos. May be it is an American way of using it. I don't know And as I always wondered what it is called, the word just stuck to me.

It's called the fifth wheel in Ireland and UK as well.

Back when horse drawn wagons were used, the conection between the steerable axle on the wagon and the wagon resembled a wheel. The part became known as the "5th" wheel. Now the connection between the powered unit and the trailer is called the 5th wheel because that is where the vehicle pivots...like the old pivoting joint on the wagons.

ok I have a question the new update for the 850 has a pto so I hooked up to the woodchipper thinking I could use this setup. but it doesn't allow me to turn on the wood chipper. this setup would be awesome because it would spit the wood chips right into the back of the 850. so is this not suppose to work on this or is it a bug?

yep and everything works but you can't turn it on.

ok I have a question the new update for the 850 has a pto so I hooked up to the woodchipper thinking I could use this setup. but it doesn't allow me to turn on the wood chipper. this setup would be awesome because it would spit the wood chips right into the back of the 850. so is this not suppose to work on this or is it a bug?

YEAH! Blacksheep said an update is coming to fix pto so we can use the 850 to run the woodchipper.

That's A sweet setup lefe1. But you could attach a ITRunner trailer and the grain trailer, tow it behind the woodchipper, kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Im from Nebraska, we dont have forests, when we do, it has branches that a tree cutter can't cut down.

you do not know if it will fix the laps, since the update this truck was fatal with respect to the maneuvers and turns in the wheels
