Seasons Animal Prices Info..(Possible spoiler).

Hi all.
Just doing a post to log the best prices I have found using the seasons mod and Dusty Cove map.

If you wish to play through the game without knowing the following info. Then please stop reading now or do not open spoiler link.

Scenario....Started a new save with just seasons and ffwd mod. Took out a bit of a loan so stayed in profit (in case it made a difference).
Set seasons to 3 day season and logged the animal prices at 1am and at Noon (12.00). Used ffwd mod to skip between days/seasons. Allowing time to catch up before taking readings.

The following results as followed. (May differ in different maps). This is for Dusty cove.

Best price/ time to buy is highlighted in GREEN.
Worst price/time to buy is in RED.

It seems the prices change at Midnight of the season sessions (1-2-3) start. Did check at noon/mid season (3day season setting). The price was the same.

Test was done for BEST prices to BUY.
If you want the best price to sell then switch colours.

Red = Best time to SELL.

Dont forget the sale price = Minus 50% of buy price.

am i understanding this? when i sell my pigs i only get half of what i could by them for at that specific time. so max i can get for my pigs if half of 4290, 2145, and i can buy them for 1529 in mid fall. i think raising pigs is a loss of money... will see them soon cows might be a better choice for animals. chas

Your theory is correct. This isn't a Seasons thing its like it in the base game too.
However if you buy at the lowest price (like you say) and sell at the highest price. You can actually get a profit. Unlike the base game.

However pigs breed quickly in the base game. So what you are selling is there offspring so is 100% profit anyway. Same with other animals. Your not selling your original purchased animals. Unless you wish to play that way with seasons and not keep them through the summer. Buy mid autumn - sell mid spring.

Money in pigs is in the qty. Pigs breed very well and IMO the sweet spot is around 120 pigs. With the reproduction rates if you start with say 100 piggies on day 1 in early spring. By day 1 of summer you will now have over 160 pigs. Reproduction stops in summer and they do not reproduce again until spring next game year. Those 165 pigs will then multiply to about 272 piggies if you maintain 100% productivity. Carry it out another full year and those 100 initial investment will grow to close to 450 pigs.

Now if you sell 172 piggies at the best selling price then your going to net close to 370,000 as a result.

Pigs is a long term play for profit.

We are aware that this information is lacking for the players in the game - just no time for the contest version so features had to be left out.

What we are planning on doing is adding some graphs into the menu to be able to see the seasonal price fluctuations, but you can also take a look at the factors in the xml file itself for a quick reference

The file is in the mod zip, under data and called economy.xml

@seb...from my run though of a year. I found the best price to sell cows was Late autumn. (check the spoiler).
However, you guys made the mod. All I am doing is checking the results of a years prices day by day in game.

@ Seb also. Will growth/breeding differ in difficulty levels? I didn't realise until a year later that I had started off on Hard difficulty mode rather than Medium.

Best moment to sell cows is early winter, as you can see in the snippet theSeb posted.

If playing on easy, animals don't die. Animal die faster on hard than on normal. There is no difference in breeding and growth.

I must have glitched the system somehow as I seem to get a better price late autumn for the cows in my gamesave.
