Post by Scotia1314 »

I split a large field in half, one half soybean, the other grass. My question,is there a way to make the grass permanent so A.I's don't destroy it with a cultivator etc..thanks in advance,I appreciate the help.

Not a complete "no" if you are on console. Split the field with a roller. Make it a couple of roller widths wide. The AI should recognize this as a border. Then plant grass on the other half of the field.

OK guys thankyou,I'll try that and let you know.
On a side note, have you noticed a difference with the way some A.I's use machinery?? Helper H (Helga) her with her head in a bun is better when it comes to sewing awkward fields, helper F (Fred) the guy with the black short sleeve shirt..he handles an articulated plow better than most, definitely quicker turn around. Now this is what I've noticed, either that or I'm drinking too much sea water again...lol

Yep. This is an easy fix on console. When I split a field like that I don't even bother with the strip anymore, I just start them at the split and make sure they work the other way when they turn.

But that is one of the main functions of the roller. Works great.

Just be sure the border is wider then your largest "crop destroying" equipement, otherwise it will still hop over to the other side if within range.
You can avoid this by always starting from that side and work to the other way :)
