so...what's being tested?

Post by chuckGnades »

just dl'd the jd 1630 from the hub. the damn thing drifts when you stand too close to it. How do you people miss things like that in testing? If you aren't really doing any real testing, then don't blow smoke up are arses and say you do. It isn't just this mod. some of you guys are way too concerned with the credits than the quality of the damn mod. wake up people

Agreed with you, somehow.

I would like to know how they test the mods,
how they work, which steps is needed to do so ...etc.

u do realize they aren't just sitting there playing with the mods right? as I recall their testing process has very little to do with actually playing with the mods at all

They're probably checking for things like well formed XML files, proper image formats, embedded scripts, etc. I doubt they play test them. That would require to much time and money. Since we don't have to pay for them, we get to test them and then rate them on modhub.

I really do mean this in the lightest sense, as I do understand your frustration. However, please lighten up and remember that this is just a game. Not real life. It's perfectly reasonable to be upset, but no sense in posting accusatory or negative posts. You know a single rant is not nearly as effective as a cordial request or comment. Remember there's a line between constructive comments and wasteful ranting.

Sorry for stating the obvious, but too often people think the anonymity of the internet gives license to be asshats.

Sincerely,

King Asshat

The testing of modhub mods more or less goes like this
Do they have the correct files? If so
Are said files the correct file extension, formatted properly, and free of unnecessary things? If so
Does the mod show up in game? If so
Can you buy it? If so
Does it show up right? If so
Do all animations, collisions, and attacher joints work? If so
Can you sell it? If so
does the log spit any errors out? If so
it passes

^^yes this is most likely how it's done, it would be silly for them to not give the mod a 3 minute ingame test

You could just delete the mod if you don't like it. That's what I do.

^^ that's what you do. If you don't like it, oh well. There are so many things you have to test when making a mod, sometimes you forget things. I already know a few things I'm going to need to fix if my utility trailer passes testing. You get so caught up testing other things that you can forget some small stuff
