Steering?

Is there a way of stopping the steering from going back to central position with a gamepad?

No, I don't believe there is, unless there is a mod for it. I know with drive control pressing M would make it do that, but you're on Xbox so you can't get Drive Control

I'm on PC, so drive control will do it? I find it massively unrealistic that the wheels automatically straighten up.

Yes, If you activate the 'FreeSteering' module in driveControl then the wheels shouldn't automatically straighten up anymore.

To activate the module change 'false' to 'true in the following line in the driveControl_config.xml in the FarmingSimulator2017 folder:

Code: Select all

<FreeSteering>false</FreeSteering>
You'll need version 4.10 of driveControl(available from https://www.modhoster.com/mods/drivecontrol--2) for this to work btw.

I don't know how that free steering thing works, but if you are on a controller, you have to deal with it I guess. Otherwise your stick position gets off.

If you just want the wheels to sit off centre for a screenshot or whatever get out with them turned and they stay that way until you get back in.

Free steering is the only thing I use out of drive control, with the Xbox controller, more realistic mod +gearbox mod is excellent
