Does oil seed radish wither?

And if it does, would it still fertilize my field when I dig it into the soil after withering?

I've newly started using radish and not much experienced on it. But it works pretty good so far.
However, as I've my plant growth on slow it takes a lot of time for it to wither
So, I couldn't test it.

Well so far it works from the first stage of growth so just waiting for it to either now and see.

By growth I mean when it sprouts.

I did the first and second growth stages. I mean I dig it into a field when it is in the first growth stage and did another field when it is in second.
Both works fine. I don't think even the texture will change in any stage (growth or harvest) before withering. And if it also works even after withering then it would deserve the name "cover crop" completely.

Ok so with growth on fast and withering on and time set at 120x it seems oilseed radish never changes from the first or second growth stage. I planted some wheat on a field a few days later and that has gone through all the growth stages and has since withered.
