Grays buckrake

Post by TacoFarmer »

This is the best silage leveler there is. I'm impressed. It's easy to use. It's simple. Best of all,it works. I'm impressed. This mod gets the double chalupa award. If this was in the game at launch I'd have done more silage. PeterJ if you read the forums,THANK YOU!!

I am about to do a lot of silage and was looking at good levelers or weights.

What is so good about this one?

How much material does it hold? It is better than the big silage fork in vanilla game?

2412L It's Good because it works. With the wrecked jumbo and the blades my silage always stayed lumpy. With this is 99 percent smooth. I never tried big silage fork.

How do you fill silage? Drive through slowly with cruise control, or unload in middle and fill outwardly?

Start on one end dump it all out. Back in with the next load dump it all out. Rinse repeat. When I get what I want in it I start compacting it. Is this wrong lol?

I use 2 Broughan 18-foot trailers, and what I do is: Open door of back trailer, then open door of front trailer, then drive through the bunker. You get it leveled a little, and compacted some too

I looked at this but haven't tried it out yet. I found the Rower System to be a game changer for me with silage in FS17, before that it was far too much work to bother with. But currently I swear by the Holaras Stego 500 - one of those on the front and another on the back and compacting takes no time at all. Pile the silage up to max height, mainly through tipping, get it levelled and then go over it with these beauties, job done.

Can´t work with this thing. It lacks the possibility to lift and lower like a pushblade can. It´s either up or down with this thing. Not easy to work with this way.
At least not on full drive over silo´s methode.

Puhing it up a pile and work your way forward might work okay with this buckrake.

Ok, I tried it out. It's a nice looking mod with good animations and is pretty good if you're working the silage with a tractor. I think the limited 2 position working of it on the hydraulic lift works in its favour as you don't have to position the tool down level with the ground manually but also there is the downside ErwinR55 points out. It's limited capacity and lack of lift doesn't beat the wheel loader silage fork for me so I'll be sticking with that but it is a nice mod to provide another option.
