Great demand question.

Post by NateS »

Wondering if anyone knows how long a great demand lasts for.

Also, does this duration differ from game mode easy/normal/hard.

Back in FS2013 they lasted from 6 to 48 hours and I don't think that has changed (not that I've noticed). I don't think the duration varies depending on difficulty, but I've never checked.

They have different times which I think also depends on the price of great demand not sure as I play with seasons which might factor in different durations

^^ that is correct. you should read the initial announcement for the duration. If I'm not mistaken it is between 6-24hrs. Min 6hrs, Max 24hrs I mean.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I never bothered to read the whole paragraph when it comes up :) Any idea if the price seems higher if the demand is a shorter duration? Or is it kinda random?

I don't know how long they last because they always show up right after I've sold all my crops to another sell point.

LOL... So true!

I really hope Giants does something with the selling prices for FS19. Particularly, they need to address the issue where the price is crushed when you sell a trailer load.

That's not really an issue that the price is crushed. Say the sell point doesn't really need all of it that you're selling. They won't pay a high price for stuff they don't need

I believe the reason for the price dropping was to encourage planting several different crop types, rather than just growing endless soybeans.

I usually don't bother with great demands on 17 since their competitors usually pay better.

I her that but that makes it difficult if I want to create a 'sugarcane plantation' or if I want to recreate a potato farm. Some farms specialize in one crop and get a contracted price.

I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong, but I don't know of any farm which doesn't rotate their crops to aid soil health.
