Saitek pedals stopped working

Post by Ulykee »

Hi all.

I have an issue with the Saitek pedals.

I had them for few months now and they worked perfectly. Today suddenly they just stopped. Side panel is working and the wheel is working.

The issue must be something simple and I just cannot see it.

I have tried restarting the game, PC, unplugging everything from the PC everything works perfectly except pedals.
I do not believe I have any software installed and nit sure if any comes with it.

Did anybody have similar issue?

Thank you all for your help.

My Saitek brake pedal quit working. Go pedal was fine. I had broken the brake pedal inside the unit. The plastic pedal's shaft had broken. Very poor engineering here, probably designed to fail early in it's life. I bought another complete Saitek wheel, pedals and side panel only to find it has the same engineering flaw. I fixed my broken brake pedal shaft and beefed up the shafts for both the new and old pedal assemblies, both the brake and accelerator pedals. To have both brake and go pedals quit working at the same time, might be due to a disconnected wire inside the pedal assembly. Unless you broke both pedal shafts, which is possible. Good luck on making any repair!

When my Saitek brake pedal gave way, the game correctly saw a constant brake on signal from the mis-aligned sensor in the pedal box.

All vehicle's brake lights were constantly on.

The game, however, also changed my Stop & Go braking from off to on.

Me no lykee this. Just joking!

So, I fix.

Hi Knoknot,

Thank you for the reply. The weird part is that I am generally quite careful with it. Not sure how it came to this.

As many already stated, this product, other than Sir panel, is really poorly built and I should not be surprised by it not working. I was just hoping it will last longer with moderate usage.

I will open it up and see if the fix is simple. If not, there should still be a warranty for it.

Thank you once again for sharing your experience, I appreciate it.

Have a nice one. :smileynew:

Hi Nigelbilt.

It's Logitech one. I got it from Amazon few months ago.

Just be careful opening it, if it's obvious your warranty will be void.

Yeah. Thanks Guil.

Since they are using really small screws I need to get smaller screwdriver. Sneaky Saitek engineers put the smallest screws under the pedals.

I might just return them and get only the side panel + better wheel and pedals.

Still debating this in my head.

Thank you all for your insights.

My fix took hours and hours.

Epoxy, super glue, and other odd bits went in to reinforce what was left of the plastic pedal shaft.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone try to fix their broken pedal box.

I would recommend that everyone with these pedals should press very lightly, especially the brake.

I broke my pedal trying to get the harvester to stop rolling back down a hill!

As anyone would do, I pushed the brake harder to the floor. Snap!

Yeah, it's far from heavy duty equipment.

Mine, unfortunately, just stopped working. Did not have any broken parts or any situations where it should have stopped working.

I have contacted Logitech and will see what they can do about it.

I will update if there is any resolve.

Until then no driving with it.
